PHI SIGMA Biological National Honor Society You have reached Michigan Technological University's Beta Chi Chapter of Phi Sigma: Biological National Honor Society's web space. We are a group of both undergraduate and graduate students who have excelled in our studies of biology and come together to provide services to the biology student body and the community. Phi Sigma is a national society that was founded in March 1915 at Ohio State University to promote academic achievement and research in the biological sciences. There are currently a lot of active chapters with approximately 45,000 members. Why join Phi Sigma? One reason is that membership signifies academic accomplishment and a potential for future success in one of the life science disciplines. Secondly, membership offers you an opportunity to learn more about exciting biological research currently in progress.
