HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS FROM SOUTH KOREA HERE FOR WORKSHOP

High School teachers from Seoul Korea participated in the Department of Biological Sciences teachers workshop.

Led my Mike LaBeau (BS'96; MS'00), they did explorations in the study of fungi (mycology) and
molecular biology.

These pictures show teachers preparing and loading DNA for a process called gel electrophoresis. They later used specialized instrumentation to look at and characterize the resulting bands of DNA.

This workshop was organized in conjunction with the Department of Education at MTU.
