As
a junior or senior, you can assist in a freshman or sophomore-level
lab course under the direct supervision of the course instructor.
This is a great opportunity to develop your teaching and communication
skills, as well as find out what is involved in the preparation
of a lab. Your specific duties will vary, depending on the
course you're assigned to-it'll be a course you've already
successfully completed.
Because undergraduate
teaching assistants relate well to first-year students, you'll
help bridge the gap between first-year students and the instructor.
If you're interested in assisting in a course, talk to the
course instructor no later than the middle of the term before
the course will be taught.
