  • Water quality and nutrient cycling
  • Infectious diseases
  • Bioremediation of environmental contaminants

Check out our Microbiology Option!

In addition to the required biology core courses, you'll select courses in:

  • General microbiology
  • Microbial physiology
  • Organismal microbiology (such as mycology)
  • Immunology
  • Biochemistry
  • Elective courses in medical and environmental-related microbiology

Most of our microbiology courses have labs where you can learn about current research and testing procedures and equipment. You'll be able to use your skills in these areas:

  • Microbial processes and applications
  • Taxonomy and culture collections
  • Microbial-based product development.
