Biology Degree Options

Clinical Laboratory Science (Medical Technology)* -
(*These two terms are comparable; there are two different certification exams available.)

While we have one of the largest Clinical Lab Science programs in Michigan, we consistently offer specialty courses with small- to medium-sized lecture and lab sections.

Our degree program provides a solid foundation in the basic sciences, as well as a complete collection of clinical courses including:

Clinical lab techniques Microbiology Medical bacteriology Clinical Immunology and Serology Clinical lab quality assurance and management Clinical chemistry Hematology / Coagulation Blood banking Parasitology

After graduation, you'll be able to perform and develop laboratory test procedures used to:

• Verify health
• Diagnose or monitor disease
• Make or test new medically related products
• Contribute to research projects

We have seven options to choose from. You'll work with your advisor to develop a course plan for completing the option you select.
