We provide our students with the right balance between personal support from faculty mentors and material support for research that allows graduate students to succeed.

Essential material support such as research facilities and equipment is available specifically for graduate student use. Smaller universities rarely have the funds necessary to provide these facilities.

Also, our program is small enough that the faculty have time to work with graduate students as individuals and provide them with the direction they need to succeed in building their careers.

While students who enter other graduate programs may have a 10 to 50 percent chance of graduating, the success rate in biological sciences at Michigan Tech is greater than 85 percent!
