This option within the MS in Biological
Sciences consists of approximately one-half science courses and one-half business
courses, integrating both theoretical and practical aspects of laboratory sciences
with management theory.
The program is flexible and suitable
for both the experienced clinical laboratory scientist and the recent graduate.
It not only provides knowledge and expertise in clinical laboratory management,
but also challenges the student to learn more about the rapid developments in
immunology, microbiology, and biochemistry.
This non-thesis option within the
MS degree allows for completion of the MS in Biological Sciences degree within
a reasonably short period of time. The project conducted should have a business
or management orientation. Past projects have included studies using personal
computer analysis of cost accounting to study clinical laboratory management,
computer models for productivity analysis, and writing and assembling laboratory
manuals using computer skills. |
