Title:   Global Poverty:  Exploring Reasons and Remedies

"The richest 1% of adults alone owned 40% of global assets in the year 2000…In contrast, the bottom half of the world adult population owned barely 1% of global wealth." Those in the bottom half often struggle to have daily meals, basic medicines, clean water, and safe housing. Why is it that in the world today so few have so much while so many have so little? Why are some countries so much wealthier than others? And how can a single country have extremes of wealth and poverty?
