Perspectives on Inquiry   UN1001
Michigan Technological University

  Class Description   Fall 2006 - Section R54

Title:   Human Sexuality and Society

How do you find a mate? What is the most effective way to advertise a new car? When can you date?

Issues of sexuality permeate much of our lives, from the discovery of the differences between girls and boys, to the issues of love and marriage, childbirth, sexual discrimination, and sexual assault. Our understanding of these issues is also influenced by the culture we come from, our political views, and our gender. This course will explore the numerous perspectives of sexuality, how culture defines sexual norms, and how it is incorporated into our identity, our families, our employment, and our communities.
