Douglas G. Harris M.S Conferred 1998

Doug started with Stryker Corporation in 1989 as a supervisor in
castroom products. He held several different supervisory and managerial
positions until advancing to his current job as a Vice-President
and General Manager at Stryker Leibinger Micro Implants in Portage
Michigan. Leibinger Micro is a market leader for its innovative
developments in cranio-maxillofacial, neuro and hand surgery.
During his time with Stryker, he has held management responsibilities
for cost reductions, computer systems, sales and marketing, and
training programs. In 1990 he received Stryker’s Total Performance
Award as employee of the year.
Doug showed his leadership skill during a four year hockey career
with the Huskies, serving as co-captain his senior year.
He has served on the College of Sciences and Arts Advisory Board
and was a member of the task force developing a degree in biomedical
engineering at MTU. He and his wife Monica (Van Neer ’86)
have two daughters and live in Portage, Michigan.
