BS (1975) from Ferris State University, MS (1978) from the University of Rhode Island, and PhD (1980) from Purdue University. Division Head of Pharmacy Administration, the Klinck Centennial Professor, and Director of the Center for Pharmacoeconomic Studies at the University of Texas-Austin.

He is considered a national expert on pharmaceutical importation and counterfeit medication. Research interests lie in the major areas of the economics of pharmacy services, pharmaceutical marketing, importing of pharmaceuticals, prescription drug diversion, counterfeit medications, managed care pharmacy and pharmacoeconomics.

Awarded the 2004 Spirit of Volunteerism Award, presented by the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.
