Field Ecology Lab
Dow Room 723

Research in this laboratory supports field studies with aquatic organisms primarily fish and macro invertebrates, some reptiles and macro zooplankton. Current 2007 studies focus on the identification and rearing of Great Lakes larval fish, the study of the freshwater amphipod Diporeia, and  movement and behavior of lake sturgeon.   Some study of impacts of invasive fish species such as the Ruffe are proposed for fall 2007.  Studies concern Lake Superior species and invasives which are interacting with our native fishes. This laboratory is equipped with 3 temperature controlled living stream systems. We also hold a split-beam side scan hydroacoutic system to count migrating fish in area streams.
